Our roots
Paolo Guidi started out building metal structures and burners for the horticultural industry, which was then rapidly expanding across Versilia. Alongside this, he made winches, propeller shafts and engines for boats and fishing vessels.
He also played a key role in local culture, engineering the mechanical movements of the Viareggio Carnival floats and bringing engineering precision to the heart of this tradition.
1987
The next generation
Paolo Guidi’s sons, Antonio, Guido e Marco, founded Metalcostruzioni Srl in Viareggio.
The location was no accident. The Darsena, Viareggio’s shipyard district, was growing fast, and luxury yacht building was undergoing a profound transformation.
Today
The founders work alongside the third generation of the family: Paolo, Gabriele e Alessio Guidi.
